Windows
I am using window 10 on a laptop. Many year ago I used Itunes to transfer my own CDs to my Iphone. I seem to remember seeing a program which allowsyou to transfer files to the phone without using the itunes program. Can anyone help?
There will be no reason for you to connect your phone to a PC; MAC etc. in the future. With Cloud storage and music streaming services, all your data including photos, music and any other kind will be stored/ saved on the cloud. This way you can access your data from anywhere, anytime all you will need is a good internet connection. Earlier to music streaming services, I had around 1000 songs on my HD. After I have none, also gave away my CD collection to friends and family because it was so outdated to have them around and occupy space. Another point is; you can get any artist of your desire or discover new ones thanks to these streaming services. I am a avid fan of amazon and apple music. Since I already subscribed to amazon prime; I get music, movies and shopping at discounted rates. It's surely a great deal so I did not go for apple music subscribtion, it would add to my monthly spend.
I love Apple Music, but not everyone wants to "rent" their music. Some people just want to enjoy their own collection.
I love being able to just search for a song I want to hear and be listening to it seconds later, or even be able to have Siri ID a song I like that's playing in public somewhere, and seconds later it's playing on my iPhone. Since AM also integrates with my library, I can keep most of the different versions of songs that aren't in the Apple Music catalog, along with songs that just aren't avaiavailable there.
I haven't used iTunes for Windows in years, so I don't know if it has gotten more difficult to use (I had the JAWS scripts that you had to pay for back in 2005). Another thought is that you could use iTunes and have someone help you import all your music on CD if you haven't already, and then subscribe to iTunes Match. That lets you upload your library to the cloud and then you can just download the songs you want on your phone from there. It's only a $25 once a year fee as opposed to a monthly or yearly subscription to the full Apple Music service.
I agree with you Brian. I'm not prepared to give up my entire collection of CD's many of which cannot be streamed on Apple Music because they're audiophile releases and authorised bootlegs. Plus, I prefer lossless music. That said, I do have an Apple Music family plan which for $5 or £5 a month allows me to discover much more new music.
Regarding Waltr2, it's a fantastic bit of software and is so easy to transfer music onto your device. Be aware that Waltr Pro will soon be abailable.
