I have an Apple watch, Series 6, running IOS 9. now, when I unlock, or wake up the watch to get the time, it speaks the time, as WELL as the temperature, the high, and low. So, basically it reads my weather complication as well. But, I just want it to speak the time. It JUST started doing this yesterday. How can I make it JUST SAY the TIME!!! I'm a HARD core braille user, and I wear a braille watch in edition to my Apple watch, so I DON't have to use speech. How do I get VoiceOver to ONLY speak the time when unlocked? Thank you for any assistance.

Have you rebooted your device? Maybe it helps. I also have the weather complication on my watch face but VO only announces time when awaken or unlocked.

After a search of all possible settings, that's generally what I do next to troubleshoot. I THINK, however, that I've found the answer. It was like solving for X in an algebra problem!! In this case, X equals AUTO Speak!!! My goodness!! I had no idea what that was until a few minutes ago, while searching AppleVis, and I read a blog post about Watch OS 3, when this first came out. So, auto Speak, I learned, is a feature that will speak a complication, in edition to the time, when the watch wakes up. Thank you, AppleVis for the wealth of information. To disable autospeak for your temperature complication, swipe to it, then swipe up or down to "disable autospeak" and then double-tap.
