Hello, is there a way to start and pause a workout on the native Workout app with gloves? It can be difficult to press together the digital crown and side button and, for some reason, the Assistive touch feature is dimmed and can't be turned on. Thanks in advance.

I usually use Siri for this. Raise your wrist so the screen is toward you, which should activate the watch, and issue the command. You can say something like, "Hey Siri, pause my workout" or "Hey Siri, resume my workout". You can also use gesture control, though this is far more clunky and slow than Siri. I may have the name of this feature wrong; it's the accessibility feature that lets you control the watch through a series of clenching a fist or pinching your thumb to your fingers. The accessibility settings will have more details.

I could be wrong, but I’m sure the side button and Crown only pause and resume. Unless on the ultra, it has a different function, as well as pause and resume.

Hello,
That movement you said about the extra hand gestures seems like what's available in the 2022 version of "The Periferal," a book by John Gibson. in the series, people can literally do what you're talking about, tapping their fingers together and all for different futuristic results. Cool as I'd like to try it here on my Apple watch. does it work on all models? I have an older one, much older than you're talking of so just wanna know. a person with the first name of Oliver--he's on Youtube--said that pressing the digital crown and holding it will power on the watch. He's right as I tried it. Therefore, I hope this would be the same/yes, pause and resume workout is only on dc/side button press and hold. a two-tap thing on your wrist means you've resumed, and two beeps, corresponding with those taps but without them, is for pausing. While doing the Pool swim recently, I found that SIRI didn't really announce that the workout was paused. Asking how I did that though in winter? I just used my bath tub, filling it of course but pretending the movements are swimming strokes. With the water lock enabled, I'm not sure you can even use SIRI to "pause the workout." However, I can try it next time I shower. I wanna get it all ironed out before going into my pool in summmer, though.
