Problem with Weather apps on my Apple Watch

watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

Hi. I have an Apple Watch Series 4 with the latest OS 6.2, and I have a problem with the weather apps. I initially thought that this problem was strictly specific to Weather Gods, but it seems that, after exchanging Weather Gods for Dark Sky, I still have the same problem. I use the umodular watch face and have my Weather as the middle complication. It seems however that on a daily basis, I lose the information and when I tap on this complication, voice-over simply says 11–11 –. If I then double tap on the complication where the weather is displayed, the in App opens and the information will come back. Anybody any idea why this happens? Would it make a difference if I moved the weather to a different complication? I’m afraid that if I do this, I won’t get all the information. I have seen this happen to someone else when they move their Weather to a different spot on the face. Any help would be much appreciated.

There are some faces that WG will not work and others that do not work with regular weather app. I think this is a bug. Do a force restart. It might work.

@Kerry

I'm glad you mentioned this as both my wife and I also have this problem. It sounds like a bug and it isn't just a VoiceOver issue as my wife does have sight. It just seems to get stuck of either not showing the information or is showing a weather information from an earlier time. However, after a restart of the watch and making sure my location in the Weather app was right and checking on the location permission. It seems to be working once again.

Sorry to not have any suggestion but you least confirm in what I have seen is not just me.

Hi. Glad to hear I’m not the only one. Interesting that it also happens for sighted people, but then that would make sense because the information, in my case, for all weather apps, just seems to disappear. I don’t need to go to the extremes of restarting my watch in a lot of cases. I simply tap on the Weather app on my watch, find the location again and double tap on that. That seems to resolve my problem. It’s just a minor irritation and I wondered if it was just me, or whether apps, or the position of the complication.
