Apple watch and apple maps

watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

How does Apple Maps work on an Apple Watch? I’m considering buying one for navigation purposes, as holding my phone up while navigating on the street doesn’t feel safe. I use Maps on my iPhone, but the navigation can be clunky at times. How does it compare on a watch? I know there are podcasts on AppleVis, but they are quite old. So, I’m curious to hear your experiences.

Using Google Maps, It is not a full experience, you can't start navigation on your watch. However this is on an older 7th gen Apple Watch, newer models might be different. So my advice if it is about the navigation, do not buy the watch, your phone will still do much better.

I agree with Maldalain. To the best of my knowledge, there are no blindness-specific navigation apps for the Watch. Also, with the Series 12 Watches right around the corner, even if you did want a Watch for something besides navigation, I wouldn't recommend buying one now. The Series 12 Watch will likely get a faster chip than what is currently available, as the last time the Watches got materially faster chips was in 2023.
