watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is app related but it is related to the Apple Watch, so I posted it here. A post years ago said that apple pay on the watch wasn't particularly good, and I wanted to ask if that had changed as I am considering buying one.

I don’t know what issues you’re referring to, but I’ve been using Apple Pay on my Apple Watch successfully for years now without any major issues, and most of the issues I did have were caused by cashier error and terminal malfunction. That said, the issue I actually ran into early on was that my bank didn’t yet support Apple Pay, so if you aren’t using it with your iPhone already, I’d check for support by your bank first.

I use my Amazon rewards card on my watch multiple times a week. No issues here. As long as your bank and card support Apple Pay, I don't see any issues with using it.

Thanks. As I said this was an older post, where the poster said that it could be extremely difficult to get to work. I assumed that apple would have fixed whatever was the problem by now, and your responces seem to confirm that.

I use it all the time and agree that the errors are because of the terminal or cashier. Especially now that we are wearing masks, it’s super convenient to not have to use face ID, and quickly put your hand near the reader instead of pulling out your phone or figuring out where the card goes

I live in New York, has any one used it in place of a metro card? I believe that's possible.

I’m in New York too, and I use it all the time. Don’t even have a MetroCard anymore. So much easier not to have to worry about the placement of the card

No more messing about with cards or numbers. Just double tap the button and put your wrist near the reader. I've used it for years. In particular, I like to use it in bars. No more messing about with change and it's easy to track your spending afterwards.

Only problem I've encountered was an update a couple of years ago that resulted in the app crashing but that was fixed soon afterwards..
