YouTube app accessibility issue on Apple TV

Hello,
I discovered a serious issue with YouTube on my Apple tv 4g. What happens is that the app seems to have its own screen reader. However, this screen reader is very bad. I did not find a way to turn it off. Now, VoiceOver seems to be completely unusable with the YouTube app. Did anybody experience this issue as well?

This is something Google is doing. They do the same on Android TV and it’s annoying. YouTube TV has the same issue. They give you no shut up button or no way to speed it up.

I feel like we've discussed this before, with of course no resolution. At this point, I just play videos from my phone via airplay, because they've not yet tried to self voice the phone app. I hope they don't get any bright ideas any time soon either, because that self voicing thing on the TV is pretty much not usable, at least in my experience.

Hello all,
I have done some experimenting with the app and discovered that it can be used if you use the rotor on the Siri remote to direct touch. You can swipe either up and down or left and right to access menu items. If playing a video, you have to swipe vertically through the options. Hope this helps.

You can't use the login screen.

Unless they have fixed this, you can not accessibly read the activation code.

I’ve found that having “follow Focus” enabled helps navigation but VoiceOver has to be turned off when you open the YouTube app.
I also found that enabling VoiceOver when entering a search term helps with navigating the onscreen keyboard helps as the other screen reader doesn’t speak the letters.
Turn VoiceOver off when you’ve finished typing and flick down until you come to the first result and then flick right to go forward or left to go back.
