Hi All,

Just wondering whether anyone knows of an accurate (and of course accessible) kitchen scales. I'll be using it to measure weights of various different things but accuracy is very important. I have seen reviews on this site from back in 2019 but no updates on improvements to accessibility have been noted. Lastly: Only interested in products available in Europe. A bluetooth connection would be preferred to the phone.

thanks for any info.

Drop skills are very accurate and connect to your iPhone. The app is very accessible and has lots of recipes ranging from easy to advanced. The app walks you through the recipe including telling you when to wear the ingredients and making sure you have the correct amount before proceeding to the next step. You can alter the recipes for the number of servings or to allow for you not having enough of one ingredient. It will also give you alternatives so if you don’t have a particular ingredient, it will give you other ingredients that will work just as well. The app will also integrate with other smart devices. I have a Bosch home connect smart convection and steam oven and that is connected to the drop scales app so when preparing a recipe it’s automatically sends the oven settings to the device.

I personally use the Reflex 15kg postal/kitchen scale that you can get on Amazon. It requires tactile dots or a little memorization to turn it on and tare it since it has touch controls that aren't tactile, but the Smart Chef Baking Scale app works great and pairs instantly with it once it's on. The app has minor labeling issues, but all I care about is the Speaker button, which starts speaking the weight of whatever is on the scale right from your phone using a customizable voice and rate. Tons of measurement units as well. I believe the smaller scale does decimal values for finer precision.

I have the 3Kg version with 0.1g resolution that I use for weighing coffee beans and... substances. I never liked the SmartChef app, so I use the Baking Scale app which is much more cut down. I used to use a talking scale, and this is about a billion times better. They sell a version with 0.01g resolution and a 500g limit, just in case you need even more precision. Mind you, none of these scales are particularly big, but they do come with some plastic trays.

thanks very much to everyone who has replied. I'm not sure whether the Reflex scale is available in Europe. I'm certainly not seeing it come up as an option for purchase where I'm based. This is a shame because it ticks lots of boxes.
