Why does some music not appear in ITunes Match even though I own it?

I recently subscribed to ITunes match. I connected my IPhone 6 to my PC since I wanted to copy my music onto the phone. I obviously don't understand what I'm doing, but here's what happened. I can see all of the tracks from most of my CD's and ITunes purchases. Some of them will play, but sometimes I get an error saying that a given track can't be played. (some of the tracks which can't be played are tracks I purchased from ITunes.) One of the recordings I purchased from ITunes doesn't appear on my phone at all. I looked at help information on the Apple site, but I have not found answers I am able to understand. will I be able to play all of my tracks on all of my devices? What is causing this situation? Thanks for any help any of you can provide.
