I use Downcast for podcasts that I follow, although I very occasionally listen to a podcast I see on Twitter.

I use Overcast to listen to podcasts, because I like its features, especially the Smart Speed, Voice Boost, and variable speed rates. I am still a fan of Downcast, as well. Using Spotify is my least favorite way to access podcasts, as it does not have speed adjustments.

I've used apple podcasts for a long time, but now I'm all about overcast. Nice features, totally accessible and free.

I have several favorite players. Apple own podcasts app, Pocket casts, stitcher, Spotify, Google podcasts, overcast, downcast, overcast, and Castbox. I also used tuning on my smart speaker as well. For the most part, they all are accessible. Stitcher is mostly accessible, but it can be improved. Are use these different podcast players because, they have different podcasts than the other, and also for some features. Because some features are on one and not the other one. And I think it also depends on the podcast you’re listening to.

I used Downcast, and then Overcast each for a long time. However, I am currently using and enjoying Castro. Works great with VoiceOver, and I far prefer how Castro allows me to browse/organize content.

There are many options nowadays as you'd said. My personal favorite is PocketCasts from Shifty Jelly. I am one of those weirdos who aggregates hundreds of podcasts just in case he finds something he wants to listen to. Most other apps, including my previous favorite (Downcast) and the native Apple Podcasts crash and burn once I import my gigantic OPML. PocketCasts does no such thing. It's also extremely easy to customize, find new podcasts and sort podcasts and episodes. The only downside is that it'll create a PocketCasts link upon sharing, so it's hard to share with people who don't use PocketCasts itself. It also has a back-up account which I use to get my stuff back if there's a crash, a new phone etc. Now, if they had a version for the Mac, you'd never see me!

For the longest time I have always used overcast because of the features that provides. But recently I switched to iTunes because of how it integrates with all of my devices like the Apple TV. I also have to say that the google podcast is a great choice to use.

I was able to get my podcast into itunes which means you can now listen to it on the podcast players mentioned above. My podcast is the travelear podcast, I talk about 3D Audio and play tracks in each episode. Thanks for everyone's help!

I listen on the Podcasts app in Catalina. the only downside to that, is that are ads. I also listen to them on my Amazon Echo with the anypod skill. I don't know when Apple Podcasts will be available for canadian echo users, but when it is, I'll set it up and use it.
