I am waiting for the two new Siri South-African English voices. Wondering if the September 12 event will include the public releace of IOS 12 or is it about the releace of new devices only?

Subject line is pretty self-explanatory. Being that I only got my first iPhone at the end of March, I won't exactly be disappointed if iOS 12 isn't announced. But then again it'd be cool if it is announced. I've done some more things on my iPhone. I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed with all the settings, but very impressed nonetheless. It's clear to me that the good folks at Apple have put a lot of work into these devices. Having said that, what I am looking forward to is the release of OS Mojave. I am happy with the way things are now on the Mac, but there's always room for improvement.

I will definitely listen to the event on my apple TV when I get home from work that day, but apart from finding out when iOS 12 will be released, there isn't much that I'm excited about now that new phones don't have the home button. I'm just hoping that maybe the price of the iPhone 8 plus will go down so that I can upgrade to that before my iPhone 7 plus loses too much of its value. I'd happily just keep my 7 plus for as long as it's functional, but I want the better speakers and possible wireless charging option. So, if the 8 plus is the last model with a home button, I definitely hope to get my hands on one, and maybe with all the new models, it will become slightly more affordable.

I totally forgot that we're getting a few new voices. I guess I'm looking forward to them as well, although I suppose that pretty much falls under the category of finding out when ios 12 will be released. *smile*

The new devices like the phone and the new watch should be amazing. Iā€™m really looking forward to the new software, because it should make everything a lot better than iOS 11. To also include, the new iPads.

Hi! Usually the date of the release of the next version of IOS is announced at these September iPhone events, so I'm looking forward to finding out when IOS 12 will be released. The upcoming iPhone XS, or whatever they call it, doesn't excite me much, because I'd rather trade in my iphone 6 for a newer model which still has a home button, so I hope to get an iPhone 8 at a lower price after the XS is released, as my 6 is beginning to show its age now.

I can't wait to har about Ios. 12. So far, I have not seen very many articles about it, compared with Ios. 10 & 11. It's been kept under wraps.

Looking foreword to Watch OS 5 and IOS 12. Hopefully voiceover would bring new features and bug fixes.

I'm hoping that the new iPhones have Dolby Atmos support.

As others have said, iOS 12 for me. I'd love to see a greater use for OCR technology with VO, similar to the feature that NVDA can use in windows. it's so useful being able to interact with things otherwise inaccessible. In terms of phones, I hope the next phone keeps touch ID. I'd much rather use that than face ID. Much more discrete. Also I'm able to upgrade now, but there is nothing on the current upgrades from the 6S which makes me feel it's necessary or exciting.

I heard that an upgraded iPhone SE is comeing out. I hope so as I am do for an upgrade. And I prefer a smaller phone since I don't use any magnification and cannot see pictures or photos.

If Apple does this year as it has in previous years, iOS should be released right before the iPhones are actually out. Again, based on past years, Wed the 12 will be the event, with preorders going on that Friday the 14th, so sometime after the 14th, but before the 21st, iOS should be out! If those of us who are beta testing it get GM versions within the next week or so, then it'll definitely be released between 14-21 of this month.

macOS 10.14 should be released this month as well, as well as watchOS 5. tvOS should also be updated around this time, as fall time is usually the big OS releases for Apple.

As for the iPhones themselves, according to news all around the web, 3 new models are due to be released. The large 6.5 Xs (pronounced 10S), the regular 5.5 Xs (also 10s), both OLED displays, and an LCD model, which is speculated to have the iPhone 7's internals, and might replace the iPhone SE.
Unfortunately for those of you who are hoping for touchID on the new models, schematics show that both if not all 3 will use FaceID!
The iPhone 8/8+ may just be the last touchID worriers! Speaking of iPhone 8, they are expected to drop 50 to 100 dollars once the new models come out. This year's new models are rumoured to be priced higher than usual, at 900 for the 5.5 model and 1000 for the 6.5 starting price.
But again, allot of this is speculation, though some of it is confirmed by leaks and released pictures.
Interestingly enough, the new iPhone are said to not have 3d touch technology, wondering if it'll be replaced by something better, or if the tech just isn't worth it in Apple's mind. Or perhaps it's harder to get working under OLED screens.
Another point of interest, supposedly the lightning to 3.5mm adapter will not be included with this year's models!
Apple may do one thing or the other, so we won't know for sure until the 12th, but these are the way things are expected to go down on the 12th.
Some also believe new airPods are in line, as well as refreshed macBook air at entry level price.

Funnily enough, I'm looking forward to the next release of iTunes. IT is rumored that in the new version, Apple Music will finally have what all other competent services like Spotify and Google Music have had for years; the ability to do a single artist shuffle. Very long overdue.
