Off-Topic: Any way to preserve text format preffs across multiple forum posts?

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but feel free to move if it isn't.

I'm a heavy Markdown user, and prefer writing my Applevis posts in Markdown. Right now, I have to change the text format every time I have to post something, from plaintext to Markdown. Is there a way for the site to remember the last-chosen format and use that for all subsequent posts you create? If there isn't any, take that as a suggestion for something to be added.

Thanks!

Hi Nico,

Thanks for the suggestion! I updated the default text format for posts to Markdown. Other options for HTML and plain text are also still available. Please let me know how this works for you.

Best,

Michael

Setting the default text format to markdown works for my particular use case. I'm not sure if that change applies globally across all accounts or just mine. I was thinking more of a system such that individual accounts could choose which format is the default, but I do understand this may be trickier to implement compared to just changing the default value of a combobox. I do, however, thank you for the change!

Hi Nico,

I will unfortunately need to revert this change back to plain text for the default format. We will keep looking into this to see if there is a way to set the default on a per-user basis.
