Apple announced today that it will soon be releasing the next version of its mobile operating system, iOS 10.4, nicknamed Good Buddy. iOS 10 4 Good Buddy contains numerous features meant to assist individuals employed as over the road transport drivers. For example, the maps feature in 10 4 Good Buddy now lists the name and menus for all the truck stops in the United States. All the chicken coops and cash registers along major highways are also indicated. iOS 10 4 includes a new application called Find the Bear which will pinpoint the location of both bears and bears in the air for the convenience of local truckers. This new mobile operating system also allows drivers to talk directly to Siri, without having to say the name of the mobile assistant. Instead, the Mobile Assistant now recognizes that individuals are talking to it when they conclude with the phrase Over. Siri will also repeat the last bit of spoken information if individuals speak the phrase 10 9! Finally, Siri has been intigrated with the find my friends feature and will allow drivers to locate other drivers simply by saying the drivers name, followed
by the phrase, What's your twenty Good Buddy! Look for ios 10 4 Good Buddy to roll out soon.

This is not an actual press release and, to the best of my knowledge, Apple is not planning on naming its next operating system Good Buddy. This is just something that came in to my head do to not enough sleep and to much caffeine!
Have fun reading this and, Feel free to suggest your own 10 4 Good Buddy features in the comments!
Have a great day.
Jim

I like this, it was very good! i'm not sure if such features will ever actually make it to iOS but it was an amusing read none-the-less.

Also new with 10-4 is newly added spectrum for iPhones that support it. Users can now talk on 26.965--27.405 MHZ on supported devices. In adition, it's now possible to spruce up your phone conversations with the new echo mic feature. Also new with 10-4, you can now punctuate your words with a 25 tone roger beap, just to drive CBers and the few friends you may still have crazy. Finally, the hang up feature has been redesigned. Instead of taping the "end call button", the iPhone will always listen and all you have to say is that you are going 10-7 to end your call. iOS 10-4 will be a free update available only at truck stops and weighing stations on October 4.

There might not be an iOS 10.4 update. Usually the software updates go until iOS 10.3.5. If there was an iOS 10.4 update, the only feature I would want is the ability to make all iPhones vibrate the time just like the taptic time in watchOS 3.

Lol, gotta love the good buddy reference! That truly made my day! And the whole trucker stuff, what fun! Great post.

Hello,

I’m smiling because I’m thinking about how Smokey and the bandit or Dukes of Hazard would be like if they had iPhones with these features. For those too young to know what I’m talking about, do a youtube search. I can still imagine those tattoo of the guy with one long leg stretch out and the logo keep on truckin. LOL

BTW, do the folks in Europe, asia or other parts of the globe know what a CB radio is? Do they even have truck stops outside of the US? Does the expression 10-4 mean anything?

Lol! I wonder the same thing as you David. I've been over to europe, and don't think we saw any truck stops over there. So for all those who're curious, and since we're on the topic of iOS and truck stops, lol, I don't actually live very far from the apparently very well known "world's largest truck stop". For anyone who cares/wants to know, it's in Wallcot, iowa, USA. We go past it when traversing from the eastern part of the state, to the northwest side of Iowa, lol!

Thank you for the laughs! Yes we have CB radio and truck stops in Europe, although these are known as Motorway service stations, at least in the UK. As someone who listens to Shortwave radio and online scanners etc as well as being into technology I thought this was awesome!

Now the truckers will be able to avoid the local police by just asking siri tell me about the nearest police patrol.

Also, apple has introduced the ability to safely modify siri's sound effects so they're more audible whilst truck drivers are travelling.
