good day everyone
I just thought to share with all of you what has happen to me when I did my most recent upgrate on my ipod touch gen 6.
and in case that someone don't know me, I am just a regular user, 61 years old and I am no expert what so ever.
so I was quite crush when after doing my upgrate, everything was working great, no problem except that you know when no matter on what page of your ipod you are, when with your finguer let's say you go from setting to ibook or note anything at all, in my case, I always had the divise to do a click click between the name on the ipod, and I never ever thought anything about it.
but after my upgrate I had no more that click click, so at first I thought it was no big deal, I really didn't feel like phoning apple about this, I was a bit shy, because I didn't have a problem, a side of the fact that after a couple of day I have realise that those click click were helping me a lot, without it I had let say some problem let say I wanted setting, and it was telling me setting but even if I was moving my finguer I guess just a little, I didn't even notice that I did it would jump to another one , in this case maybe to ibook or helth, the closest one I guess, so this morning, I took the decision to phone and as always after giving all the information, I told the senior adviser, that I felt very shy a about this, I said to the man, I am with you guys since the gen four and it has never happen to me, it is just a big inconvenience I guess you could say, and I wonder if you could help me by any chance.
so the man I could tell that he had already a good idea of where to check first, I didn't say anything but I was quite amaze because for one week or more I check I thought everything under setting and nothing could help me.
so, he said I got a good idea of the problem but first it is very important for me ok so I want you to really think as hard as you can and tell me as much as you can what you did to make sure that you didn't cause it by accident and later I will tell you why I am asking this.
so, I said to him, I don't need to think a lot because I don't do any complicated stuff I am surre as other blind user can do, me with my pc when itunes offer me the product I simply enter on download and install, I said you know you have the choice between just download or to do everything so I always choose this one and from there I just do what I am told and everytime it jst work I have never had any problems.
so he said you don't think that you for what ever reason when under setting and do anything that would have cause it?
I said no because when I am done I have no reason to go fix anything. it just weork right?
so he said to me and I had my touch with the blue tooth connected to a good speaker so I said I can not hold the phone and do all this tell me first what you want me to do and you will ear thanks to the speaker that I will be doing exacly what you are telling me.
so he said I want you to go to general and accesibility sorry for the spelling and than go to voice over and than do your taptap on audio and under this find special effect and check if it is off if it is off put it on.
I go, I never even knew that this existed so for sure there is no way that I would have change this by accident.
so I told him you are right it is off and I put it on.
and bingo it work right a way.
I said to the guy I feel quite fullish and he said don't feel this way because if just by doing your upgrate it turned this off, you are helping us because we want to know about it.
and I said you know I am part of a group and I tell him apple vis and I said but I bet that most if not all people if this would happen to them they would have known to go to this special effect, to tell you the true I never had a reason to go under voice over, so I just thought I would pass this on in case if a new user has his first ipod touch or ipad and do a upgrate and ever lost this click click that is what you would do to have it back.
just go to general under setting, and do the tap tap on accesibility and do the tap tap on voice over and thabn do the same on audio and check if your sound effect has been turn off and if yes just change to on and everything is fine.
it is so simple but if you don't know, one can look a long time.
well I hope this has help someone.

RE: A positive experience with Apple Support; and a tip to shar
I am glad that your experience with Apple Support was so positive. Thanks for the tip, as well.
wow!
Well, that's good! I've had to deal with tech support for years now. Mostly it was with the braillenote. I've abways had kind of a love/hate relationship with tech support. That mostly depends on the representative I get.
I'm glad that you had such a good experience with tech support. I called them to try & figure out how to edit an email that someone sent me, & I had a wonderful experience with the advisor! He was very gracious & stayed on the phone to help walk me through the process several times after trial-and-error. After we finally figured it out, he made sure I understood the process. He even asked me if I was ok editing it from there!
And I think the knew jhing they're doing through iCloud to sort of get remote access of sorts where they could see your screen but not manipulate it like they can with a computer.
My tip is to keep records of calls if it's complicated especially. If they don't give you a case # ask for one. If the call isn't complicated & I correspond via email, I save the correspondence. You ne<er know when the issue might rear its head or something else might come up where you might need access to those records again at some point. Then, if you get a representative that's... well, shall we say has the ajtitude of hating their job & takes it out on the customers, try & be the better person.
