Podcasting with iTunes

I read the iTunes guide on this, but there are, I think, some issues. First, there is no subscribe to podcast option under the files menu. Second, I can barely get around the program to even submit my podcast to them. Are there any easier ways to go about all this? The rss feed is done, I just need to test and submit it.

To submit your feed to the iTunes Store: 1. Open the latest version of iTunes. 2. Click the iTunes Store button in the upper-right corner of the iTunes window. 3. From the top navigation bar in the iTunes Store, click Podcasts. 4. From the Podcast Quick Links section on the right, click "Submit a Podcast." 5. Follow the instructions on the Submit a Podcast page.

Yes, well… I read all that, but I still don't see it. I also don't see a way to subscribe to the podcast as they recommend. They say going to the files menu and click subscribe, then take the feed URL So that you can test to make sure that the feed works, but there's nothing like that in the file menu. Is there anyway to do all this on iPhone? If not, what about shortcut keys? I'm using iTunes with Windows.

It seems to be working here. Although I haven't done extensive testing. I'm using Windows 8 iTunes 11, and JAWS 14. In my case, I use the old style sources side bar. I went to the podcast section of the sources list, and then checked the file menu. About half way down, I find a subscribe to podcast option. When I click on it, I get a dialogue box asking for the podcast feed URL. ,
I have my sidebar hidden. I'm not even very good working with the side bar, are with iTunes in general, but I guess that's why I didn't see the option. Thanks! I'm subscribe now, so I know the feed works.
Okay, is there something I'm just missing here? I don't see any way to submit my podcast to iTunes. Just updated to iTunes 11 by the way, and I like it a lot better than 10. The FSCast has helped some too, but i'm definitely not seeing anything about submitting podcasts. thanks for all the help!

Sorry you're having such a hard time with this. Using JAWS, when it comes to the iTunes store, JAWS KEY + ESCAPE is my friend. The store seems to work better for me if I apply liberal doses of refresh. I went to the podcast section of the iTunes store. I tabbed around a bit and below the level one heading called Podcasts, I found a level three heading and list called Podcast Quicklinks. One of the last options in the list is "Submit a Podcast." I bet you didn't expect this to be the most difficult part of starting a feed.

Well, iTunes and I have never been on very good terms. I take it you're using Jaws 14? I'm way back on 11! I can't even see the headings, or anything else that Jaws 14 seas. I guess I'm just gonna have to get a demo of 14. i knew wit was under quick links, but at the time I posted My question, I hadn't listen to the second freedom scientific podcast, and didn't know how much more Joss 14 could read than 11 can. Of course, I've arty paid over $1000 to freedom scientific for jaws, and I'm not about to buy another upgrade!
iTunes is tough to get friendly with. I try not to be a "change is bad" kind of person, but, I am not thrilled with iTunes 11. It is so much slower when searching and browsing my library. It seems to take more keystrokes to do the same thing. I think I said it before, but I'll be glad when it matures a bit. People said 10 was bloated, but for me, it was faster. I think your idea of using the demo of JAWS 14 is a good one. You should be able to do what you have to do within the time restrictions. I get the impression that Apple does some nonstandard stuff, and I know Freedom Scientific tries hard to make it all work.
Here's to great accomplishments. I finally got it done *without* throwing the computer out the window. Here's to great enginuity. (Just kidding, this is a duh kind of moment.) All I had to do was hit insert z, then tab around til i found it. It took a while, but now hopefuly there will be a new podcast on iTunes soon.

Good to know you beat it into submission, if only metaphorically.
