Hi All. I wondered has anyone successfully jailbroken the Apple TV, I have been trying to jailbreak my 2nd gen Apple TV using "Seas0npass" which I got from the iDownloadBlog website, but it always fails when I get to the point where it opens iTunes. It says there is a failure with the script and the restore fails. Any thoughts?

Hi, I was wondering if you know anybody who has a jailbroken AppleTV2 and tested out if the voice over is able to read all the additional things on a jailbroken AppleTV2. This is the only reason why I don't want to give this one a shot. I feel like this is just a waste of time if it is not accessible. Because when you think of it, AppleTv is really designed for the sighted people, so the people behind hacking the AppleTV don't probably have in their mind to include the accessibility part of it. Just wondering. Hey! You will never know, right unless you try it. I hope you would give us a feed back about your experience if you successfully jailbreak it.
Hi. I have no idea if those apps will be accessible to be honest, but fingers crossed. If I ever manage to get it done, I will let you know. I figure there's no harm in trying, I can always restore it if I have problems.
I just thought about this. Did you check if your AppleTV2 OS can be jailbroken. May be there is some compatibility issue there.

Yeah I think so, according to iDownloadBlog the 2nd generation one can be jailbroken, but not the 3rd generation one at the moment. I could easily be missing something here of course.
I'm not talking about the generation of your AppleTV. What I was referring to is the firmware version of your OS if it is compatible and can be jailbroken.

I'm not too sure to be honest but I got bored trying and decided just to upgrade to the new software version 5.2 that Apple released today instead. There's some nice features. I might look into a jailbreak again some time in the future. Thanks anyway.
