Jailbreaking Apple TV

Hello all. I'm new to the site, though I've been following along on the Twitter feeds for a while. I don't yet have any i-device besides the Apple TV, but when I become eligible for an upgrade I have my sights set on an iPhone 4S. I've been following along for ideas on what I would want to put on it once I get it. While researching whether there might be a way to get Amazon Prime content onto my Apple TV, I ran across a couple of forum discussions suggesting that it could be done by Jailbreaking the device. What I'm wondering is if anyone has done that and whether the new content added to it worked with Voiceover.

Hello, I'm not in for one to Jailbreak my devices but I do know of others that do so. Perhaps, other would have a better answer for you than I would be able to give you. However, I did find this article today discussing about the possiblity of Jailbreaking your iTV that might answer your question if it could be broken or not. However, it does not answer the question about if the Voice Over would work on it. So if you are talking about the newer iTV 3 then you will find this of interest. Apple TV 2 Jailbreak Possible, Apple TV 3 Less Likely BY Dave LeClair http://appadvice.com/appnn/2012/03/apple-tv-2-jailbreak-possible-apple-tv-3-less-likely A small snippet that I told from this article states the following: The guys at Greenpois0n put together an incredible post detailing the struggles with jailbreaking the Apple TV. It turns out that an untethered jailbreak for the Apple TV running 5.1 may not be too far away. There is a tethered jailbreak available now, and the community is hard at work trying to find an exploit that will allow users to go untethered. According to Bile, “there is still a lot of work to be done.” Work or not, it’s always good to hear that there is progress, and that users may be able to jailbreak their devices soon. Renowned member of the jailbreak community I0n1c claims to have an untethered jailbreak running, but Bile is unaware of whether he will share his findings with the public. At this point, even though the jailbreak is tethered, it’s better than nothing. As for the Apple TV 3, he paints a much more grim picture. From the sounds of things, a jailbreak there is unlikely, at least for the time being. Basically, there is much less to the Apple TV 3 for them to work with. He agrees with Musclenerd’s opinion that the “attack surface” in the Apple TV 3 is small, and that brings them a slew of challenges for finding exploits.
