Hi everyone, I hope things are well and good.
I'm thinking of applying to Apple retail rolls. Have you heard of any blind/you had any experience working at the Apple stores? Thank you so much.

I cannot give away too much information here, as it would be giving too much info about myself, and another person, without their consent. I will say that I know of an Apple Store location, that has employed a blind individual. As I understand things, said person is like an acting customer support role for the accessibility features of Apple products.

Said person also used to be a teacher for the blind.

HTH. 😎

Hi.
I have been working at one of three Apple stores in Istanbul for two years as a totally blind person so I do not what exactly are your specific concerns about working there but in my specialist role, everything nearly goes well. Store systems are accessible, leadership team and other work fellows are aware of diversity culture within the workplace.

I have heard that the internal apps Apple requires its employees to use have accessibility issues. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I have no experience of workin with Apple retail. However, when I joined my present employer in 2011 they had a number of internal apps and processes that left a lot to be desired in terms of accessibility. There are still a few, but it's much better than it was. You can change thins internally. until things change, hopefully you will get the help or adjustments you need (after all, it's in their interests that you can do your job as they don't want a claim for constructive dismissal on their hands). My instinct is that if you're holding out for a job where everything is fully accessible, you'll be waiting a fair while. i'm not even sure such jobs exist at bastions of accessibility such as RNIB, though that is pure conjecture, Your Honour.
