creating a UK account to get the night jar

Hi, So I saw online that you could select none for the payment method and get free apps from another app store such as the UK one. However, none is not an option for me. It shows everything else though. Any ideas about my options? It won't let me continue without putting in a card and I didn't think a US gift card would work.
