Hi. I just want to know if you can use iTunes store credit to send a iTunes gift card to someone. Or, do you need a credit card to do this?

I have never tried this, but I think you need a credit card to send a gift card. Rather than sending a gift card to someone, I prefer to give the recipient a real one that you can buy from a store.

If you read the terms, borning I know, it tells you that credit can't be purchasing credit, it makes sense because how would Apple make money? I'd rather get gift cards however I can digitally or in hand, but then there's the awkward asking of how much the real one is worth. You don't want to ask, yet you can't see the denomination.

Hello Armando,

My understanding is that any iTunes credit that you may have on your account can't be used for gifting any app to any one. It has been like this for a long time and the only way to send people a gift is by using your credit card.
