I don't think there's any app for applevis, but it'd be very very cool if they amke such an app.

No Applevis app is planned at this time. Such a venture would be extremely expensive and time-intensive. We all wish it could happen, but for now, it cannot. Sorry.

Yes, there is more to it than posting to twitter. The website's content management system is highly customized, and exposes none of its inner workings to the outside world. Twitter and email posts happen automatically, yes, but they are generated from within the site itself. There is no third party using any kind of API to do that work, it is all internal.

The initial costs of an app, not to mention the website modifications required, would easily be in the thousands. Then you have ongoing costs. For instance, what if Applevis adds a new feature? Then the website team has to work with the iOS app team to be sure that feature gets into the app. Or, what if Applevis modifies the way it handles some of its content? The website users may never notice a change, but the internal modifications could all to easily break something in the iOS app's data retrieval. Not to mention the cost of updating the app to fix bugs or add features, and keep up with major iOS updates in the future.

I don't mean to sound discouraging, and I'd be first in line to buy an Applevis app if it ever came along, but I want to give everyone an idea of exactly how complex and expensive such an undertaking would be.

Hi Chris and all, Unfortunately, no, an AppleVis app is not in the works. Aside from the internal website integration that would be necessary, we have cost. As Alex said, the costs could easily be into the thousands to get an app developed. If we were to ever have an AppleVis app developed, we would want it to be full-featured--and fully integrated with the website; ideally, the app would have almost all, if not all, of the features available on the AppleVis website. Needless to say, this would be extremely expensive and time-intensive, both on the part of the app developer and on the person maintaining the website. Please believe me...we have looked at this from all different angles. We want an AppleVis app as much as everyone else does, but the funding and development resources necessary for us to have a successful app are just not available right now.
