Hello everyone.
I preordered this book earlier this month; as an Apple fan why not? Well it's out today, Thursday 26 March, and it's great! No spoiler alerts here, but it certainly is an eye opener to the company, who turns fifty on Wednesday 1 April hence this book. I thought I would share with you the link to the audiobook, which was cheaper through Apple Books than say Audible, Β£9.00 versus Β£17.00 respectively, or the equivalent in your currency. Happy listening!

Looking Forward to Reading This
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to reading this! Hoping it is added to BARD (U.S. National Library Service) soon.
Re: Apple; The First Fifty Years
Hi Michael.
You are welcome. For us in the UK, that would be the libraries owned and/or operated by RNIB.
Talking books
I am curious if the national library will have it for us. Here in the USA. LLC.
A book recommendation while you wait
"Steve Jobs", by Walter Isaacson.
It is a fascinating read, it might whet your appetite while you wait for this book to be released.
Now Available From the U.S. National Library Service
Apple: The First Fifty Years is now available through the U.S. National Library Service.
Is it just a history?
Is this like a history of Apple? Does it read like a textbook or is it actually like an interesting read? Just asking cause I may want to go see if my library has this. I still get books on the cartridges. I donβt use bard. But this is pretty cool. I didnβt know. Apple was 50 years old.
History Book
The book has 50 chapters. I won't deep dive into it for a while, but I have it downloaded. It seems to discuss Apple's history, from the very beginning to where we are as of early 2026. I'm not sure I'm going to like it, and it seems excessively long at almost 24 hours, but we'll see. You should be able to call your state library and request someone mail it to you on a cartridge.
Reads Like a Narrative
I just started reading this, and from what I have observed so far, the book reads like a narrative. For an Apple enthusiast, I would not expect this to be boring reading.
50 chapters is really long
50 chapters is pretty long. But a bit overkill. I donβt think Iβm interested anymore. If it was maybe like 20 chapters or something that might be OK cause that just seems like a little excessive. I think Iβd watch something on YouTube maybe then read a whole book like that. At least I know now thanks for all the info.
You never know until you try
The subject says it all. Download the book or have the library send you a cartridge and give it a shot. You have nothing to lose. It might also help to take this book in small sittings so as not to overwhelm yourself.
