App Compatibility Field Now Removed From iOS App Directory Entries

It’s been decided to remove the compatibility field from iOS App Directory entries. This is something that we’ve been considering for some time, as the ever increasing fragmentation in the iOS product range means that this field now rarely tells the complete or accurate story of which devices an app is available on. Other than pulling this information dynamically from the App Store, there is no realistic way to prevent this. So, rather than risk giving people misleading information, it’s better that we simply retire this field.
