Hello all. I wanted to show the varying range of temperatures that will be over the course of the next couple of days in facebook. I was told option K would write the degrees symbol, by google, and though I pushed it, nothing was put there. even re-reading my status, I didn't see anything but the numbers. Can anyone help? is it in that imotocons list? If so I forgot how to get there, and it's a bit jumbled. Is there any tips on navigating that palet of stuff? Thanks.

Hi Siobhan. Option 0 should do it for you. Option K also seems to work for me, though VoiceOver weirdly says "with combining ring above" when I use that. Option 0 does just call it degrees and zooming in I can confirm that it is written correctly.Right now in Dublin the temperature is 10º. (that's Celsius by the way!). On iOS by the way you can get the symbol by tapping and holding the 0 key and wait for the alternative characters to appear.

hi. Option+shift+8 also inserts the degrees symbol, and option 0 does likewise as already stated. I'm not sure what the differences between the 2, perhaps one is a mathematical degrees sign as in angles, or is that written the same as temperature? Option+shift+8: ° Option 0: º

Hi dave, and umm, someone's name I forgot to look at. Sorry :P. Anyway that worked thanks very much. Ok while this is open I have one other question. I'll describe this as best I can. As I wrote the word thanks, in my subject line, I noticed that it thought it wanted to finish my typing with other things. Such as thanks for all the comments, or toonhead, relax, or there's a lot of anti virus programs. 1. does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about and two, can I make that stop? It's sort of annoying. I don't think this is related to selecting text, it's acting more like predictive texting. And by the way, toonhead if you read this, sorry for using your name like that. It someitmes does this behavior in Mail as well, it's almost like atuo complete. Hope someone knows what i mean and can help.
