For the past few days I've been trying to run Windows on my Mac (Apple silicon) using Parallels. I've managed to get it working with the help of VOCR, but it's fairly hit and miss whether things work or not.
For example, I've had to start the VM from Terminal, because Parallels doesn't work well with VoiceOver:
prlctl start "Windows 11"
And to shut it down again:
prlctl stop "Windows 11"
I like having Windows available for testing NVDA, playing games and that sort of thing.
For those of you who pay for Parallels — meaning the version from the website, not the App Store: do you have a procedure for starting, using and shutting down Windows on the Mac that works every single time? Something that makes the whole process of using Windows actually functional, rather than a gamble?
I've also set up a dedicated Karabiner profile for Windows.

Actions menu
The startup and shutdown commands are accessible via the Actions menu in parallels window. Just VO+M to the menu bar, find the actions menu. In the VM configuration screen, you can also set the VM to start when parallels is opened and suspend when you close the Parallels window.
