It's no longer a mess. I can once again select and navigate text reliably, and the fact that I couldn't was driving me crazy. The control center seems interesting, but if I still have to go to the extras menu to access it, I'm not quite sure what the point is. Of course, I'm probably just not aware of a keystroke to get there. I only played with it for a few minutes, so don't really have further thoughts yet.
I have only been playing with Big Sir for a few minutes as well, but I really like Safari. The speed at which the Applevis webpage loaded was just amazing. I also like the new sounds in mail. Those are my only observations thus far.
Hi all. I was prompted to update to Big Sur this morning, but I decided to wait until now and just let my Mac do its thing overnight. Additionally, I read elsewhere on here about Apple's outage and wanted to wait until service was restored. But I noticed something nice that I've not seen before. I went to System Preferences and then to Software Update. If you VO-Right arrow past the "More Info" button, it says that other updates are available. I've never seen this before, and it was very nice. I guess I'll try to install these other updates after the major one. I advised a sister to do likewise. But as always I'm looking forward to Big Sur.. My Mac is actually updating right to 11.0.1 . It's good to hear that the Safari bug is fixed, although tbh it didn't affect me much if at all. Off to Sleepland I go.
Hi all. I just updated my Mac this morning to Big Sur, and like it thus far. I don't know whether this is a bug or standard behavior now, but whenever booting up and starting VO I get the date and time. This only seems to happen before I enter my name and password, but I like it. I also like the new and updated sounds, including the startup sound. Haven't done much else yet with this update, but kudos to Apple for once again hitting the jackpot on my end.

So far I think I would say the control center. It's a small thing but it's quick and easy to get to and use.

Safari and Mail
I don't disagree with you about Safari though I am experiencing the ducking bug randomly in it. I haven't tried mail because I use outlook.
