Hello,
I'm brand new here. I hope i'm putting this in the right place. I have an M1 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1. I updated from 14.3.x and, ever since, I've noticed that the CAPS LOCK will not pause speech as it used to do. I need to use CAPS LOCK instead of Control Option because one of the programs I use highjacks the Control key to move the user between the ribbon and the body of your document. The inability to pause speech in this context is crazy-making. has anyone else experience this? I have a case with Accessibility and they claim never to heard of this. Meanwhile, I have. heard of at least three cases where users have had this problem:
Me
My wife
a fcolleague in Germany.

If anyone can test to see if CAPS LOCK pauses speech under Sonoma 14.4.1, please let me know your findings.

Thanks,
Kevin

The Caps Lock key doesn't pause speech for me on macOS 14.4.1. I can't say if this behavior has changed, though, as I've only ever used the Control key for this.

If the use of the Control key in the application that you mention has a menu item, you could try reassigning this in the Keyboard area of System Preferences and see if this resolves things for you.
