VoiceOver output device

Hi All,
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.
They have recently bought themselves the new M1 MacBook air. With their previous Intel MacBook pro, they were able to set VoiceOver come through builtin output in VOiceOver Utility. Since she got the M1 MacBook air, when she goes to VOiceOver utility, she does no longer have the builtin output option. they could set it to System default, but when they stream computer audio over zoom which they do frequently, VoiceOver comes through as well when it never used to, this then means that she has to constantly switch the VoiceOver output device, in VoiceOver utility.
So, I guess the question there is, how to best set VoiceOver to come through builtin output? Or is that no longer done in the same way it used to be.
Hope this makes sense, if not I"m happy to clarify things.

One solution is to use the command f5 toggle. It turns voiceover on and off.

Another possibility is system preferences>sound>output, which is where you would designate the output device for computer sound output as opposed to the voiceover utility sound output setting designating the output device for voiceover. I don't claim to be knowledgeable, but this might give you a start.
