Hey all,
So when I leave the Mail app open on my Mac, every time a new email comes into my mailbox, VoiceOver insists on reading the whole damned thing automatically. I have to actively stop it.
If using the Mac at the time it's not the end of the world, but if it's just sitting on the coffee table while I'm doing something else, it's incredibly annoying.
Is there any way to stop this behaviour, and have it only make a sound to indicate a new message, without the speech?
I've looked in the Mail app preferences and VoiceOver utility but can't find anything.
Thanks,
Dave

Notification Styles?
Assuming you are using the native Mail app, I wonder if its got something to do with the notification settings for the App? I also get this issue on my work Mac where I get floods of emails and have just changed the notification style from "badges and banners" to "badges" - I am thinking that it will then not display the message preview in the notification and maybe just play a sound? No idea if it will work or if its something you may have tried already?
Thank you
Amazing, that appears to have worked. Thanks for the idea.
