Hello Everyone,
I have been reading articles and posts on AppleVis for quite a while but have never posted until now. I am an individual who uses screen reading technology under the windows platform with little experience using Voiceover. Through my work I provide limited assistance for persons with disabilities attending post-secondary programs and have run into an issue I want to see if anyone has either encountered or have ideas on how to solve.
A post-secondary institution is using the Sage 50 and Sage 300 accounting software which seems to be only available for the windows platform and seriously lacks accessibility working with JAWS. Sage offers a cloud based alternative but the cloud based alternative doesn't have the same functionality as the full windows version to achieve the accounting course outcomes.
A cloud based demo version of Sage seemed to work fine with Voiceover reading all fields the demo gave access to. I've setup remote access on the windows computer that has the Sage software installed so I can remotely login with a MacBook to the computer where I can run the software. I had hope Voiceover would have read the screens through the remote access but at this time my trial was without success for Voiceover to read anything once remotely logged in.
My question is does Voiceover have the capability to read the screens when remotely logging into another machine specifically a windows machine? Or is there needed setup functions to perform for Voiceover to work?
Thank you in advance for any helpful hints or ideas provided.
