Hi all,
I'm a newcomer to the Mac, although I've been using iOS with voiceover for quite a few years now. In the process of getting used to this platform, I'm attempting to find alternatives to apps I have on windows.
I've installed the Mac version of VLC, however can't figure out the best way to import media files. When navigating the screen with voiceover, I see that there is a drop files here area although command+v to paste any copied files does nothing.
Does anyone have any tips on getting this to work, or is the main way of accomplishing this to open files with the file browser from within the app?
Thanks much,
Daniel

dropbox
I use dropbox in my PC for movies and I can play it on my iPhone with VLC without no problems.

you say "import", sounds like you want to save the file in vlc's own library, like the ios version. vlc for mac doesn't work that way. you can access any files on your mac, so there is no need for vlc to have its own library. you can create playlist, if that's what you desire.
dropping files never works well on mac. in fact, i doubt you can make it work at all, because in this case it involves separate windows from finder to vlc, i have never been able to do that. once you jump to a different window, voiceover loses the file you want to move.
use the browse function in vlc, or simply open the file from finder.
try to import file
hy, try to import file using cmd + O, and navigate to folder or song's you wonth to import.
