Hello all:

I'm not so good in HTML, but sometimes i need to right professional emails with headings, etc.
also, sometimes need to put links with tags in order not to make the link visible to the client.
so, can i use Markdown inside the native mail app on mac?
i tried services/convert html to markdown, but it does not work.
so are there any other ideas?

If I even have to write HTML and have it be rendered as actual HTML, I am fine with that. I’ve been wanting to know how to do the exact same thing forever!

Don't use Apple Mail for composing your email. Use MailMate instead, which literally boasts this as a feature, to the exclusion of a WYSIWYG editor.

If you have to use Apple Mail, I think the nearest you can get is attaching an HTML file that another tool produces. I simply don't think you could inline the HTML. At best you could perhaps open it in TextEdit, then copy rich text and paste it in Mail … maybe?

But, honestly, I fear this is hopeless.

Also, please remember that HTML email isn't inevitable. Yes, I know it's de facto standard, but formatting plain text—ironically, essentially not unlike Markdown, itself—is possible to do in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Put links at the bottom using reference style. Use asterisks for bullets. Etc.

I found a great app for working with Markdown text. It lets you export documents as HTML, PDF, and many other formats, and you can copy the rich text directly. It also makes reviewing your work easy and accessible. It’s available on iOS; you can get it on the App Store. Click here to get it on the App Store. I also made a mini podcast, but I was editing the audio at 1.5x playback speed. When rendering, I tried to return it to the default playback rate, but it caused some issues. So, the audio is a little faster than normal, but I believe you can still understand the process. The app is super easy to use regardless.
