Hi everybody,

I've been trying to create a budget spreadsheet on numbers for Mac and I keep running in to a issue with inputing a formula in my spreadsheet. Does anyone know the correct way to use formulas in Numbers? I have already created my budget spreadsheet just need the formula to complete it. I apreciate the tips for this issue I'm having.

Hi!
activate any cell for editing.
For example, A3.
Then type the following:
A1+A2

Supposing the data are in A1 and A2 cells.
Type any formula you want.
Or choose the suitable one from fast/quick formula menu.
Then the cell changes are noticed if you type in the A1 and A2 cells.
Next read the user guide.
Cheers!

Enter the cell you want the formula in. Type = (the equal sign) and start typing the type of formula you want: SUM, AVE for average, etc. You can arrow up and down to get to the formula you want and press return. Once you do this, you will be placed into the area where you can mark the cells for the formula.

Examples:
=SUM(B2:B14)
=AVERAGE(C2:H2)
=STDEV(C4:C20) (standard deviation)
Good luck!
