TV app doesn't automatically play described versions of content

I've noticed this behavior ever since updating to macOS sequoia.
If I go to watch a show in the TV app on my mac, whether the show is from Apple tV Plus or Paramount Plus, both of which I subscribe to through the tV app, I am no longer immediately presented with the audio described version of the content. It is necessary for me to find the audio pop up button, and choose english AD. This step should not be necessary, as I have audio descriptions enabled under system settings.
My iPhone and Apple TV both continue to behave as expected an automatically present the audio described versions of content.
