Troubles recording voice and mac output properly in stereo

Hello all, I listened to the excellent podcast that was done recently on setting up the two virtual audio devices in the audio and midi setup deal in order to record both your voice and the Mac's output, and it pretty much worked. My only issue is this. For some reason, no matter what app I try this with, (I attempted to use Amadeus Pro and Audio Hijack Pro), what it would do is record my voice in one channel and the Mac output in the other. Instead of having them both in both channels so that you can get stereo sound to come a crossed if it was there. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
