Hello all:

From a very long time till now, When i need to open some websites on safari, i can wait for along time, then safari refuse to open it.
it can happen with applevis also, but when i type just "applevis.com" without www or something, it can open it with no problems.
also, on something like: logic.band.
If i type www.logic.band.com it will not open, but when i type:
logic.band in my bar, it open the site,
why is this? i clear my history many times, but with no luck.
can you tell me why is this? and how can i fix this?

Hi. logic.band is the correct address, not logic.band.com. So, when you type logic.band, you arrive at your desired destination.

I think his issues is that whenever he type www or .com it does not work.

Hello:
yes, sorry, i ment logic.band
so, if i wrote www.logic.band it is not working.
but when i wrote logic.band itself it worked.
this is not lemited to logic itself, even on applevis.com it happens sometimes.
Are there solution s please?

Hello.
so, what can i do now? and why it is happening here?

By Bruce Harrell on Saturday, August 26, 2023 - 21:29

Hi Ramy. The simple solution is, stop typing www.

That should do it.

Also, please do pay attention to what comes after the period. Those few letters at the end can be anything these days, not just dot com or dot org.

Joy!

Bruce

I don't have mac anymore but these issues seam to keep popping up.

Sorry I can't help but here's a basic link: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204098

Also you might want to try changing browsers.

Hi Ramy. Just curious if there's any chance it's a conflict in the keyboard language that you're using. If I remember correctly, that it's Arabic in your case?
For example, Vietnamese is my native language. When I switch to Vietnamese, the first w will turn into a letter o with a horn added as a diacritic mark.
Hope it's a good hint 🤭.

Hello:
no, when typing a web address, like what am doing now, i use the US keyboard.
so, for sure the address is right.

Hi there,

Not a fix, but should help.

1. press Command + L to enter address field of your browser.
2. Simply type the top level domain. i.e. Google, Apple, AppleVis, etc, without the 'www.' or the '.com'.
3. Press Control + Enter to automatically add the 'www' and the '.com' to the address.

Of course you will have to edit it for websites that end with something other than '.com'.

HTH. 😃

Hello:
I tried this idea and i succeeded, really very helpful.
but just out of my mind, why this happened? and it is not happening on chrome or any other browser?
🤔

Try the following:

1. Open Safari.
2. Press Command + (comma).
3. Navigate to the 'Search' tab and VO click on it. Disable the following: Include search engine suggestions Smart Search Field, Include Safari Suggestions, Enable Quick Website Search.
4. Interact with the toolbar, and then VO click on Advanced.
5. Check the box for Show full website address.
6. Check the box next to Show Develop Menu in Menubar.
7. Press Command + w to close the Safari prefs.
8. Open any web page. Press Command + Option + e to clear your internet cache.
9. Press VO + m, then navigate over to the Safari tab, down arrow to clear history, and clear EVERYthing.
10. Close and re-open Safari.

HTH. 😅

Still not working.
the thing that makes me go mad is: when i click on the applevis link in an email, it opens Safari very quickly. but when i wrote this in safari itself:
www.applevis.com it did not open.
so, what can cause this?

Do you have any extensions in your Safari?

By Ramy on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 - 21:29

I was having 2 extensions, i uninstall the meddle monkey one, but the other one is for netnews wire.
so, will try without this Monkey and see

If you enabled the Develop menu as I mentioned previously, you can load Safari without extensions, without uninstalling anything. Its good for troubleshooting. 😉
