Seeking recommendations for a file finder application for the Mac

I actually just use the search function on the mac. I navigate to the folder and hit command option f. From there I have a lot of choices including that folder which searches sub folders, plus I can add a lot of criteria. And I mean a lot. I can even create smart folders, although I don't normally do this.

You can do this with the built-in Finder app like Mary suggested, I also use LaunchBar which I find very easy to use and gives you lots of other functionality besides searching, it is a paid app but I find it well worth the price. Another Good application, is Easy fine I can't remember if its payed or not I don't think it is. its totally accessable, and does just what your wanting.

I never liked that app. I don't want to go to the app folder or doc just to launch an app to search. I want full finder integration like xtra used to have before you had to put code in to the terminal in recovery mode to allow injection of code in the finder. Between the finder and launch bar you have a pretty sweet setup for searching and file management.

Yep read it. Now I need to figure out how to add folders to the index with out going through the long root of choosing it through the add rules dialogue. It is a good good app as well as the finder search
