sd card problems with macbook pro running OSX 10.10

Hi,
So i have had this problem for a wile. I am trying to use a SD card on my mac, but when i insert it, it will not come up in the finder, so when i go to take it out, it says that it wasn't ejected properly. This is becoming really annoying really fast.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey.
I've had this happen before as well. Maybe try rebooting the system? I don't know of any other fixes you could do besides rebooting.

have you checked Finder Preferences? Are the showing attached devices checked?
