Safari acting odd in the middle of webpages

Hi all. I've asked this before I think, so I'm sorry I can't find the solution if there is one. I will be on any random site, and out of nowhere, it will shift focus from whatever I read, to the show sidebar. Can this be stopped? It's very annoying. I'm on the 12.6 version of Monteray

But, occasionally, while reading an article in Safari, focus will jump back to the top. This happens pretty soon after I start reading, I'm never more than a paragraph or two into the article. But it is very disruptive.

Back to your issue. VO+J toggles VO focus between the web page and the Show Sidebar button. So, I wonder if this hot key might help you. Next time your focus jumps to Show Sidebar, press VO+J and see if it returns focus to your previous location on the web page.

Whenever I go to drive.google.com, the website loads (verified by sighted spouse) but focus is in the toolbar on the Show Sidebar button. VO+J does NOT help. If I stop interacting with the toolbar, then VO+Right past the tab bar and go to the vertical splitter, the next element should be the web content. But VO will not let me VO+Right past the vertical sidebar.

While in this state, if I Command+Tab to another website, then Command+Shift+Tab back to Google Drive, VO+Right?Left behaves as if it is navigating the website on the previous tab, not Google Drive.

My Only recourse is to Command+R to refresh the page.
