I have just joined a group that uses Google Drive for posting and sharing documents and providing edits to those docs. I haven't used Google Drive before and I'm slowly figuring how to navigate it (which I don't find easy). When I locate a file to read or edit, however, I can't figure out how to access the file.
Are there any guides posted on how to use Google Drive or any suggestions from this helpful community?
THanks

Sort of confused here. If you have Drive and Docs installed, double tapping a file in google drive automatically opens it in docs. then at the bottom right corner of the screen, you'll see an edit button. Double tap that to open the text field to begin editing the document.
Before doing so, its worth noting you can also put focus on the document window and switch to lines in your rotor to read the document by paragraph.
After the focus is on the edit field, standard voiceOver commands should work and navigating by line reads by line instead of paragraph.
If you have further questions, please ask and I'll do my best to answer them.
What device?
I wasn't sure what device you are using to access Google Docs. Are you using iOs or a Mac? The iOs version of Google Docs is pretty straight forward. Accessing the documents on a computer is accessible, but takes a little figuring out.
Wouldn't Pages open it?
I'm just getting back into the world of OS X, so I may be all wet here. But, I remember hearing that Pages on both iOS and OS X would open from Google Docks, provided that you opened it in Google Drive.

This topic is in macOs forum, so I assume it's mac.
I'd suggest you check here for details on docs accessibility.

However, as with most modern web apps, use less VO navigation keys and more of a combination of tab and arrow keys when in drive / docs. That helps :)
Google Drive on a Mac
My thanks to those who tried to answer my poorly worded question. I left out the critical piece of information, I'm using a Mac for this purpose.
If necessary, I could use my iPhone X, but I honestly don't like editing documents on the phone.
Hope that makes sense and provides the ability to describe the way to access and edit a document on my laptop.
Thanks Jakob
The link you provided, which I hadn't found when I did my initial search before posting, was very helpful. I installed Chrome, which I previously had no need to use as Safari worked well, and I could manage in Google Drive. I can't say it works well or is easy, but I can manage.
Details on Google Docs on Mac
I wrote this blog about using Google Docs on Mac. I hope it is helpful.

Unfortunately, recent changes to Safari have impeded usability, in my opinion.
I'm working on trying to be productive with Google Docs on iOS, but I'm using an ancient iPad running iOS 10 so I doubt my iOS experience will turn into a useful blog.
