Quirks with Notes

Hi folks

has anyone else noticed quirks with Notes in macOS Sonoma with VoiceOver? Specifically when using bulleted lists and then if there is text under the bulleted (or numbered) list VO just ignores it and says 'new line'?

Also, while editing words, if you change a word or correct it, then when reading back with the arrow keys VoiceOver reads the word in halves, like start to edit point, then edit point to end? I've seen this on a couple of divergent machines so I feel like it's a bug.

I have always liked Notes as it's quick and easy to make notes, you can share/collaborate and sync over to iPad and iPhone devices. But these VoiceOVer issues are making the experience more challenging.

any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Hi there. I don't have a Mac, so I can't speak to your first point about the behavior of bulleted lists in the Notes app, but I do have an iPhone. Whenever I use Notes on the iPhone app, I have noticed that when you correct or change a word, it tends to read the word strangely. I'm not sure how else to explain it. Unless you've experienced it yourself, it's hard to explain, and put into words exactly what is going wrong. I have made screen recordings and shared with Apple, but, so far, it hasn't gotten me anywhere. I thought I was the only person realizing this, since the few times I've mentioned it on here, there was no response, or indicator otherwise. For example, let's say you have a sentence, the dog is black. If you change the words, or make any corrections, the sentence becomes jumbled, even though the word is correct. The sentence would sound like,, th e do g iss blac k. It's crazy, and it only seems to happen in the Notes app, so you can not clearly recreate the problem anywhere else. Since you're only hearing the issue, and not seeing the issue, it's hard to replicate The problem. If you paste the text anywhere else, it reads fine, because there's nothing wrong with the sentence.

Hi,
I do notice an issue with Notes and bulleted list on Mac OS. Let's say that you enable a bulleted list. You type the first bullet point in the list.
Then, you press the return key and type the next bullet point.
Pressing up-arrow from the next line results in VoiceOver reading the previous line, but also parts of the next line.
Hitting up-arrow from the next line should result in VoiceOver only reading the previous line.
Thanks
