Quicknav in Sonoma

Is it just me, or is anyone else not a fan of what they've done with quicknav in Sonoma? They separated arrow quicknav from one letter navigation on web sites. I really don't like this as now, when I am in a form field, toggle off arrow quicknav but have single letter navigation on, even when interacting with a form field, and I try to type, it interprets some things as intended for navigation, not that I am trying to type in a field. Is there a way to get it back like it was before, where left and right arrows pressed together would toggle the two of them at the same time? Or is there some other setting that could be messing things up for me? As it stands right now, I'm not sure what they were thinking, as this has made it less intuitive to use, not more so. I could be one of the few, but I liked it how it was before. But, I also realize I could be missing something. I've been using an iPad and iPhone for a while, but am recently returning to the Mac, so admit there could be something I'm missing here, or don't have set up properly.

You're not alone. A few of us, including myself, has voiced our concerns about this issue. Hopefully Apple will come up with a solution soon.

It would be better if they put single letter key navigation with quicknav, then we could just press left and right arrows to turn them both on and off. Also is it must me or does single letter key navigation freeze more then it did before?

I can't speak to whether or not it's freezing more often or not, since I'm running on an unsupported mac with only 4 gb ram, so even stuff that shouldn't drag still does.
I can understand somewhat what they were trying to do, but this should be optional, give us the choice to decide whether or not we want them independent, or if we liked it better with them controlled together. hopefully they will fix this soon.

This was just something I decided to do, as I forgot to turn off auto updates, so now find myself on Sonoma, on my 2018 mb air. I just got stuff set up as I want it, not about to fuss with downgrading. So, I set a command in keyboard commander, for option L (think letter navigation.) It's good enough for now. Hopefully Apple will change Quicknav behavior in the future to make it more like it was, and it's stupid that we should even have to be coming up with these work arounds. Seriously Apple, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Instead fix all the stuff people really are complaining about. lol But at least Option L is a lot easier on my fingers than vo Q. Just thought I would post this for if it can help anyone e out.
