Quick Rant: Siri Voices still delete themselves!

It is just beyond me that Apple can not resolve this issue. My Siri voices on my mac delete themselves. I reported this to Accessibility Team and have received the traditional reply of sending my issue out to the specialized team for further investigation.
Again, I suspect there is an accessibility team, and i do doubt that Apple really cares about accessibility anymore.
Now for those who would come up and say they do not have this issue with their macs, OK congratulations, it happens on mine, and I paid for my mac as you did, if it is not an issue for you, honestly I do not care, I care for the money that I paid for a device I expect to work the way I want.
Rant over! Good day, and merry christmas for all.

I understand your frustration, it also happens on my iPhone 15 Pro.

Took me three inappropriate tries to get something I wouldn't get deleted for. siri's just becoming more and more stupid. I don't have the issue yet I don't care to use siri. If you have it, i'm sure it's a complete pain in the ass. Even something as simple as having siri speak faster on the iphone, isn't compatible on the watch, nor though I didn't look, not available on the Mac. Apple's focusing on their new products having accessibility at it's launch, to say yes they are accessible. They won't go back and fix a multitude of issues with every Os they are putting out. This is why I really hope next year a lot more people take the scary plunge, insert scary Jaws music, to test the beta software. The only device I won't test is my watch, I want at least something should a device decide to quit on me, or accessibility is broken. I'm all for concern about how much money people shell out for each computer or mobile device, yet, apple wins when they aren't getting enough feedback. It's honestly not as worrying as the ULA and other things they cover their hides with make it sound. Plus you can downgrade.

Hello, it's me again, the darn annoying Norwegian.
I don't own a Mac though but I'm about to murder my iPhone because I prefer to use SIRI voices with VoiceOver and they auto-delete when charging my device.
System language = Norwegian.
Default VoiceOver voice = Norwegian SIRI 1.
2nd voice in my rotor is UK English 3.
I also used to have U.S. SIRI voice 4 and Irish SIRI 1 or was it 2...
Just love the Irish accent but got really tired of re-downloading all voices every time I needed to charge my phone.
So, now only Norwegian and UK English SIRI voices in my rotor.
I've had this problem since iOS 17.1, currently running 17.2.1.

Apple is reported to have halted all diagnosis and bug fixing operations as of late 2022. An alarming lack of care, and responses to user feedback, suggest that the company has ceased and discontinued any present and future attempts to diagnose and fix issues faced by users. This is considered to have a particularly more profound impact on those needing special accommodations, including the visually-impaired. The high, and rapidly increasing number of posts and threads on AppleVis.com and elsewhere where users complain about severe longstanding bugs and the growing number of bug reports to Apple not receiving sufficient attention, imply that the company has completely ceased to process bug reports and work on releasing any hardware or software with fixes to bugs seriously hindering the user experience in the future.
Somewhat exaggerated, but does have some truth to it.

This have happened to me after installing iOS 17.x.
I use the norwegian Siri voice, and that one disappears quite often, but mostly in the night. But it have happened while using the phone too.

I reported this to Apple Accessibility twice, and nothing has improved yet

Disclaimer: This is just a suggestion. Trolls need not reply. I'm allergic. 😷

I have not really experienced the issue with the voices auto deleting in 17.x. That is not to say it did not happen, I was just not paying attention. When I picked up my 1st 15 Pro, it was loaded with 17.0.2. I had it set to use Siri Voice 1 (US), which coincidentally was what Siri uses by default here in the US. So I did not notice anything, because I (still) use that setup, even though I am now on 17.2.1.

However, I have noticed an irritating bug on my current 15 Pro, that is not present on my SE2.

When I ask Siri to text someone, and Siri begins to playback my message, if I so much as clear my throat, or breathe loudly, or I dunno, blink to quickly, Siri will replace my message with whatever sound it attempted to interpret. Then it will respond to that noice, rather than playback or give me options to send or change the message.

Sometimes, if I tell Siri to 'review' this acts as a work-around.

Kinda. . . 😑

My SE2, on the other hand, has absolutely no issues with sending messages.

There is a nice alternative to Siri, and works decently enough on iOS; Google Assistant. Furthermore, you can use shortcuts to make activating Google Assistant work similarly to Siri.

Finally, if you have a 15 Pro or Pro Max, you can have the Action button be your Google Assistant button.

Food for thought~ 😉

I am using the lowest-quality Serena (UK) voice, and it sporadically gets deleted, at which time the Daniel (UK) voice takes over, though Serena is still shown as selected in the speech settings. I have to select another voice then re-download Serena to be able to effectively select Serena again. The problem started during iOS 16 and is still not resolved in 17.2. I used to think it only happened when I had speech off and/or my phone was charging, but I've since experienced it even when speech is on and phone is unplugged. I also at first thought it was a rotor language issue but now after setting primary voice to Serena (UK) it still occurs.

I used to love Siri voice 4 as primary but stopped using it when the VO crashing bug started because I read here that lower quality voices reduced the frequency of that bug... I'm referring to the bug where the screen curtain would sporadically turn off and then back on, announcing "screen curtain on"... Has that bug been resolved such that it makes sense for me to switch back to Siri voice 4?
This is on an iPhone 11.

I've provided reports, screen recordings, and diagnostivs to Apple about the Serena (UK) voice getting deleted from my phone, and in the latest email exchange with Apple a few days ago I was told that they "... confirmed that the issue is currently under investigation by the appropriate engineering teams."

Maybe if enough people complain directly to Apple Accessibility they will prioritize this bug fix.
