I'm currently facing a problem while trying to restore my iPhone 5S to its original settings. I currently got iOS 7.1 beta5 installed and want to go back to iOS 7.0.6 using the latest version of Mac OS X and iTunes. A message is displayed each time I click on restore saying there was a problem downloading the software. The requested resource couldn't be found. Unfortunately no code is displayed, clicking more info opens up Apple's support and help page. Most of the provided solutions didn't work well. Any solution?

You can try this, but if it fails you will have to take your phone to the Apple repair service. Connect your phone and let iTunes be opened. Next, press and hold the power and home buttons for about 10 seconds. After that, release only the power button, and keep holding home for about ten seconds more. Now a message saying that the phone will be restored should appear on the iTunes window on your mac. Just follow the steps and let the process to be completed.

well any way doing the process mention on the previous comment if something going wrong need apple genious. so doing the easy way, sometimes just restoring both devices and then start over allows do changes. or even clicking on the more info button and opening the apple web page and shut down the apple page, and trying restore button works. so remember doing iTunes backup in cace if need to repair it. but if your device has guaranty try to fix it.

Ok, Apple actually won't officially let you downgrade from the 7.1 beta back to the current release version (7.0.6). This is stated when you download and install the 7.1 beta. However it is technically possible as Apple is of course still signing the 7.0.6. Here's how I did it before. Go to www.idownloadblog.com and go to the downloads page. Find and download the iOS7.0.6 IPSW file for your specific device. Now install that the same way you installed the 7.1 beta. This should successfully install 7.0.6 and even if you need to restore again for some reason after this, the standard restore method will now work for 7.0.6. However beware. When I did this in the past, I was not able to restore my apps and settings etc. I had to set it up as a new device. Aside from that annoyance, this worked for me, but I take no responsibility if it goes wrong for you as Apple does not officially do this downgrade. HTH
