Hello all, I started noticing this today. When I'm taking my mac out of sleep mode, my audio controls seem to not be working. At first I thought it was simply my mac crashing, but after playing around, I realized it was my audio settings. It was somehow muted or something. I did some digging, and apparently other people who are running mavericks with the latest mac are encountering the same issue. So far, I noticed it only seems to be doing it when I have my apple earpods plugged in. Has anyone else faced the same issue? I'm planning on calling apple tomorrow to see if someone there can help.

Hi, I do have encountered the same problem with you. However, my model is a mid2013 macbook air. I am a new mac user. I found switching to mac is not very hard, but when I upgraded to maverics, So many bugs that get me annoying. The most unbearable one was that Voiceover always say busy. It is so different from windows screen readers. Hope apple will solve these completely in 10.9.1 update.
So I spoke with Apple this morning, and the guy had me reset the PR. To do this, you turn your mac one, and hit the following, hold down command and option and press the letters P and R together and hold it down until you hear the log on sound twice.
