may someone of you who us Microsoft Word 2016 for mac confirm that there’s no keyboard based highlighting of any text is possible since OS X 10.11 El Capitan is installed?
May I ask you to tell what keys do you use? Till El Capitan came along, I CTRL+SHIFT+arrow keys did their job well. But now nothing happens anymore if I try to enter one of the well known commands.
I've just solved the problem. Just drag the VO focus to the actual keyboard focus by pressing VO+F4. Immediately after that all known navigation commands do again what they should.

I have 10.11 and the final release of Word 2016 installed. I can select text with the keyboard. The only problem I have is reading word by word.
