Open Core Legacy Patcher on mid-2011 iMac

Hi,
I was wondering if any one here has used open core legacy patcher?
I have a 2011 iMac with 500 GB of storage and 16GB of ram, and it can only get macOS 10.13.6, and I want to upgrade it to something higher, because I know it can take it on.
I also can't do work on it because it is too old to get pages and the rest of the iWork apps.
All I know about Open core is that eventually you will need to open the boot picker by holding the option key down during boot up, and after patching, you will need to install some post install root patches for certain things to work. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to do this?
Thanks,
Levi

I am now stuck at a point where after selecting EFI Boot from the boot picker, the system doesn't patch.
Someone said I should download cattolina patcher from https://dosdude1.com and now I am on 10.15.7.
I would like to be able to upgrade to either Mac OS Monterey or Ventura.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I would recommend you run Open Core again, and choose 'build and install open core'. It should build a new EFI patch based off of Catalina, and in turn should work for you.
I will admit that sometimes choosing the EFI boot from the start can be a tricky process, however once done it is done.
