Hi all: anyone having the same problems or a solution (if it is just me having messed up my settings)? I've got a 13 inch Macbook PRO with touch bar, Mojave, Focus Blue 40 (connected with adapter <for USB, ethernet etc.), Cap Lock as VO-Keys and Zoom off/disabled and Security Vault enabled/On. I can only activate buttons etc with the braille display (Cap+space bar) does not work. When the braille display is disconnected, the Cap+spacebar works most times. But not always and never on pop up menu's. Even in the key board help; I have to press the Cap+Space bar twice, before it is recognized as a VO command (first time it is recognized as a " space" ).
Beside this problem, there are a couple of minor problems:
- Speech sometimes suddenly stops (have to switch VoiceOver Off and On, to get the speech back);
- Teh Escape on the touch bar and scrub on the track pad are not working everywhere;
- Quick nav can only be entered with Cap+Q;
- Message that the laptop needs a touch ID to come awake again, is not always spoken (VoiceOver just goes on, so you do not always realize the laptop is in lock mode / is doing nothing).
- When you have touched the <touch ID> you have to be very careful not to touch the touch bar immediately afterwards (because activating the item will not require a double tap as usual). I have to wait, press a random key or whatever, before the VoiceOver features of the touch bar kick in (otherwise you start SIRI or mute the laptop, just by gliding your finger over the touch bar).
Is there something wrong in one or more of my settings?
Hope you can help.
Thanks and regards,
Kim

Found the solution for the Focus vs key board myself ☺️
It turned out to be a settings thing. When I "untick the "show alert messages" in the Braille settings, the key board Cap+space work again (everywhere). There is still a small delay, that is not there with most other key combi's, but it works. Just hold down the VO-key for a second and then press space ((or press Cap+space twice quickly, when that's better for keeping your blood pressure under control).
The only key combi that has this strange response problem are the mouse related combi's like Cap+CMD+FN+5. I think things go wrong when adding the FN-key to the combi. But other, not mouse related, combi's with FN in it, do noet have this problem (like CaP+CMD+FN+4). If all FN key combi's gave this problem, changing the standard key board response settings or disabling the dictation function, would be my next step. But the FN only plays up with mouse related combi's, so that does not sound like a logical solution.
