Hi. I have fixed mail, by going in and turning off the SSL that was on. don't ask why this was a sudden change, but it was. My only issue is the following: if i send myself an icloud message, it comes through instantly on the phone, but not at al on the mac. I've looked at apple's support but so far nothing seems to be working. Any ideas? Helpful ones, not the maybe it's apple's end, would be great. Thanks.

Hi Siobhan. I read your post yesterday and I think you said the email is set up as a POP account? I believe what you need to do is have it set as IMAP. As far as I know IMAP is the one that does this. I'm not an expert so apologies if I'm off the mark here but I think that's right.

Hi dave. Thank you for providing what help you thought you could. Wait, I didn't mean for that to sound condescending, it probably didn't but, it did in my own head. Anyway, here's the problem now. The Icloud address, will show up on my phone, but not in the Mac client, even after I changed it to Password per the article'sinstructions. I turned ssl off again, hoping that might be the problem, I was asvised that was a no no. So now it's on again and i just have no freakin' idea why my mail when from happy to hung over in the span of 12 hours. I got my main accounts back, but I know it's still looking for something as evidenced by the no chime when either the mail is done downloading, or, I hit command shift n and there's no mail, it chirps at me. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it a lot. Siobhan
Hi Dave and anyone else who's reading this. Upon further exploration, when I look at the incoming mail server is says p04-imap.me.com or whatever the correct thing is supposed to say. A glance at the system status says there's no issue but there are so may ... tables and things, I'm just a little annoyed. So because i can't find anything else, and because i'd recreated the account, I will now just deal with it. i didn't use the mail that, much but at the same time, I like verything working as it should be. Thanks for all your help. Siobhan
Hi Siobhan. Huhh that is odd. Really sorry I couldn't be of more help. I've only got my GMail account on the Mac and I'm not in a hurry now to add any others! :) I hope it sorts itself out for you anyway. Maybe next time your in an Apple store you could ask them.
Hi all. My brother reset our Net, and for some reason, when I created the account, all works just fine now. I don't know how or why it wasn't but, like I said before I like things all working together. I'm picky like that. :) Thanks for dave's help.
