Hello fellow Applevisers. I hope everyone is having a good morning. I was wondering if their was a setting on the mac or also if their is a way to unlock a mac and leave it unlocked. I sometimes am playing a podcast or a file and all of a sudden the mac lockes. I have to enter my password in order for it to unlock. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I hope I'm being actually helpful and not just suggesting something you've already tried.
but I had this problem as well.
and the cause was because of hot corners.
which you can turn off in
System settings
/
General
/
Hot corners.
Set the ones for lockscreen or sleep to none.
if that doesn't fix let me know and I'll try find other reasons and solutions.
Lock Screen Settings
Go to System Settings by activating the Apple menu at the top-left corner of the screen (press VO+M to do this using VoiceOver), then navigate to Lock Screen in the sidebar, and the main view will contain a few sliders for you to adjust the idle time before the system shuts down the display, locks the screen, and goes to sleep. Some of the settings can be adjusted independently for when you are connected to the power grid or are running on battery power.
Turn off "log out when idle"
Two things you could try:
Check if the following option is turned on: Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Advanced > Log out automatically after inactivity.
If this option is on, consider turning it off.
Another thing you could try is prevent your Mac from going to sleep using the "caffeinate" command line tool. Open Terminal, then type caffeinate and press Enter. To quit caffeinate, bring the Terminal window to the front, then press Ctrl+c.
Yet another option, amthetamine
The short of it is, it’s a small Mac application that disabled sleep for as long as it’s running, you can also terminate sessions, the session terminates automatically when the lid is closed, without you ever having to mess around with your display settings, such as setting the display to never sleep, etc. it’s free by the way, and it in the App Store if you’re interested to take a look.
